Jadran Suffers Second Loss in Belgrade
The Jadran water polo team couldn’t replicate their impressive performance from the match against Novi Beograd, where they were tied for nearly three and a half quarters last night.
The European vice-champions triumphed with a score of 15:13, marking Jadran’s second defeat in the regional Premier League tournament, as they fell to Crvena zvezda 14:12.
The Montenegrin champions struggled throughout, with Zvezda gaining their largest lead five minutes before the end of the third quarter at 12:7.
Seven minutes later, the score was 14:10, but Petar Radanović’s team rallied in the closing stages, narrowing the gap to 14:12. However, with 80 seconds left, they missed a crucial attack with a man advantage, stifling any chance of a comeback.
Uroš Vučurović, Danilo Radović, Ivan Nagaev, and Strahinja Gojković each scored twice, while Dmitrij Holod, Martin Gardašević, and Vasilije Radović added one goal apiece.
On the Zvezda side, Marko Radović and former young Montenegrin representative Gavril Subotic were the standout performers, each netting four goals.
