Pioneers Uncover Rivals’ Identities at the Historic European Championship
The pioneering Montenegrin women’s volleyball team has found out its opponents for the upcoming European Championship for women under 16, set to take place from July 2 to 13, 2025, in Tirana and Pristina.
Our young volleyball players will compete in Group II in Pristina. Alongside the host nation Kosovo, Coach Petar Koković’s team will face Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Greece.
Last weekend in Maribor, our pioneers made history by qualifying for the European Championship in first place in Group A. Remarkably, they were the only team from all five qualifying groups to win without dropping a single set, marking them as the first Montenegrin women’s volleyball team to qualify for a major tournament through the qualifiers.
The championship will feature a total of 16 national teams divided into two groups. Semifinal and medal matches will occur in Tirana.
