Caković Unveils Roster of Volleyball Players for Golden League Preparations
Jovo Caković, the head coach of the Montenegrin women’s senior volleyball team, has revealed the roster of players set to commence preparations for the 2025 CEV Golden League.
The national team is set to gather on May 12th at the “Verde” hotel in Podgorica, which will host the initial tournament matches. A total of 18 volleyball players have been called to participate in the training:
Technicians: Marija Šušić (Sent Benedek, Hungary), Viktoria Đukić (Budućnost Volley).
Service receivers: Simona Petranović (Mladost Zagreb, Croatia), Nevena Vukčević (GEN-I Volley, Slovenia), Teodora Čavić (Luka Bar), Gordana Madžgalj (Herceg Novi), Darja Popović (Omladinac, Serbia), Mileva Magdelinić (Budućnost Volley).
Proofreaders: Nikoleta Perović (Ted Kolejliler, Turkey), Kristina Božović (Budućnost Volley), Matea Kovačec (Gimnazijalac).
Middle blockers: Saška Đurović (Sporting, Portugal), Mina Dragović (Lugoš, Romania), Katarina Budrak (Bordeaux, France), Teodora Rakočević (Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Libero: Melisa Cenović (Herceg Novi), Ksenija Krunić (Budućnost Volley), Milica Veličković (Akademija).
Coach Jovo Caković’s staff includes assistant coaches Milan Milošević, Tijana Malešević, and Petar Koković, along with fitness coach Milan Čuturović, statistician Ognjen Marković, and physiotherapist Nikola Vojinović.
The team aims to kick off their Golden League campaign against Spain on May 30. Just two days later, they will take on Ukraine. The following weekend, they will compete in Slovakia, facing Azerbaijan on June 7 and the host nation on June 8. The third tournament will take place in Hungary from June 13 to 15, starting with a match against Hungary on June 13 and concluding with a game against Portugal the next day.
The final tournament of the CEV Golden League is scheduled for June 27 to 29, 2025, where the top three teams along with host Sweden will compete for the title.
