Šola Reveals Playoff Roster for Italy Matchup

The head coach of Montenegro’s men’s handball team, Vlado Šola, has announced the roster of 18 players for the upcoming World Championship play-offs.

The “Lavovi” will face Italy in the play-off, with the first match scheduled for May 9 in Conversano (20:00), followed by the rematch on May 12 in “Morača” (17:30).

The core of the team consists of players who participated in the recent major tournament – EHF Euro 2024 in Germany this January. Filip Krivokapić and Milorad Bakić may have the opportunity to make their debuts in the A team during official matches after showcasing their skills in friendly games against Georgia in Podgorica.

In the playoff against Italy, Montenegro aims to qualify for the World Championship for the second consecutive time and the third overall, following their participation in 2013 and 2023.

Players selected:Goalkeepers: Nebojša Simić, Nikola Matović, Haris Suljević; Wings: Miloš Vujović, Aleksandar Bakić, Mirko Radović, Luka Radović; Pivots: Vuk Lazović, Nemanja Grbović, Miodrag Ćorsović; Backs: Arsenije Dragašević, Milorad Bakić, Vuko Borozan, Vasilije Kaluđerović, Radojica Čepić, Filip Krivokapić, Branko Vujović, Stefan Čavor.

The 2025 World Cup is set to take place in Croatia, Denmark, and Norway.
