“Thrilled to See My Dreams Becoming Reality!”

Mark Đokaj has just celebrated his 16th birthday and has already made five appearances for Dečić in the top league.

At such a young age, it’s unusual for a player to debut, especially with the reigning champions who are in contention for multiple trophies; Đokaj is clearly a remarkable talent.

Had it not been for FIFA regulations prohibiting players under 16 from participating, he might have debuted even earlier. He would likely have become the youngest player in our league’s history, but a winter break intervened when he turned 15 on January 16th.

He finally made his debut on March 2, 2025, in a match against Mornar in Tuzi—a date he will always remember.

He was 16 years and 46 days old…

“I’m thrilled that my dreams are coming true,” remarks Mark Djokaj.

His debut for Dečić’s senior team, alongside consistent performances for Montenegro’s youth national teams, highlights the potential this young player possesses.

“Seeing my wish to debut with the first team of Dečić fulfilled is incredible, but I believe this is just the beginning. I need to work hard every day and prove myself on the field as a true professional. I have faith that everything will eventually fall into place.”

Mark Đokaj is also part of the Montenegrin cadet national team, and like his older teammates who recently qualified for the European Championship, he is eager to join the senior squad.

“That’s my next objective, and I’m confident in achieving it, step by step, training by training, match by match.”

Playing as a right winger and attacking midfielder, his idol is Lionel Messi.

“My key strengths are dribbling, shooting, and finishing, while I aim to improve my defensive skills.”

Like many young footballers, especially those who achieve milestones early in their careers, Mark Đokaj harbors a personal football dream.

“I aspire to play for Barcelona, the club I support.”

It’s no wonder he chose a Spanish agency for representation…

“Several agencies were interested in my performances, and after discussions with my father, we decided to partner with a Spanish agency that presented us with a suitable plan. I believe this will benefit both Dečić and me, but the priority remains focusing on what matters most—the game itself.”
