The Parliament of Montenegro is set to vote on Monday regarding the appointments of Majda Adžović as Minister of Public Works and Admir Šahmanović as Minister of Energy and Mining.

According to unofficial reports from “Vijesti”, this decision was made during today’s session of the collegium led by parliament speaker Andrija Mandić.

The collegium has also agreed to convene a new session on Thursday, April 17, where discussions will cover amendments to the Civil Servants and Employees Act, the Concessions Act, and regulations regarding free access to information (FOI).

A source present at the meeting informed Vijesti that agreements with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were not originally on the agenda; however, there exists a procedural possibility for their inclusion via amendments.

“The intention appears to be to conceal this and to add agreements just prior to the session. Typically, if there’s an amendment, it should not be discussed on the same day. Additionally, the Prime Minister should be present during the discussion on such items,” stated the source.

Some MPs during the collegium expressed concerns regarding the urgency of deciding on these agreements, noting a lack of rationale for such a swift vote and reminding that such documents have never been adopted in this manner.

Another source from “Vijesti” indicated that the intention is to finalize the agreements either on April 17 or following the Easter holidays.
