    <p>The support initiative in Bijelo Polje has so far engaged five young entrepreneurs, including two women, with a total value of 23,837 euros, which represents nearly half of the allocated budget for this category.</p>

    <p class="gt-block">This information was shared by <strong>Haris Malagić</strong>, the Secretary of the Secretariat for Local Self-Government, in response to a query from councillor <strong>Jasmile Hot</strong> regarding the program's execution.</p>

    <p>"The Municipality of Bijelo Polje continues to back young entrepreneurs through incentive initiatives designed to foster new businesses and bolster the local economy. Following the Decision on the Method and Procedure for Allocating Funds for 2024, the Commission for Allocating Funds for financing Projects for Young Entrepreneurs issued a public call on November 25th, which lasted for 15 days. Six young entrepreneurs applied for this possibility. During the open call, the Commission held an Open Day to inform all interested candidates about the application process," Malagić noted.</p>

    <p>He elaborated that upon reviewing the applications, the commission found that five met the criteria set forth in the Public Call, while one was deemed unacceptable due to not aligning with the strategic goals outlined in municipal documents.</p>

    <p>"The funding is aimed at supporting innovative and sustainable business concepts that further the municipality's economic growth, create new jobs, enhance tourism and crafts, and promote environmental protection and cultural heritage. The total allocated budget for this initiative was 50,000 euros. Although the funds were not entirely utilized, we can affirm that the candidates displayed ingenuity, vision, and a commitment to establishing their future in Bijelo Polje," Malagić stated.</p>

    <p>He emphasized that the budget provisions are reserved for business proposals that align with the strategic objectives of the municipality, particularly those enhancing economic growth, fostering tourism and crafts, celebrating cultural identity, and protecting the environment while supporting the development of intellectual services.</p>

    <p>Eligibility for funding included being unemployed, residing in Bijelo Polje, and being under 30 years old, coupled with the requirement to submit a business plan that contributes to local community development and economy.</p>

    <p>"Since 2020, Bijelo Polje has been making public calls for financial project support for young entrepreneurs. Initially, the support fund was set at 20,000 euros, which increased to 200,000 euros in 2022. However, due to a low response rate and numerous rejected applications, it was eventually decreased to 50,000 euros. The Municipality of Bijelo Polje is committed to continuing programs that promote entrepreneurship, empower youth, and create a favorable business environment," Malagić concluded.</p>
