“Ten Bus Drivers Caught Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol”

In the course of the “Autobus” operation, law enforcement identified 10 drivers operating buses while under the influence of excessive alcohol.
The Police Directorate reported that this action was conducted nationally by their road traffic safety officers.
A total of 196 bus drivers were checked.
“During the operation, 166 buses were inspected, and eight were removed from service. Misdemeanor warrants were issued for 61 drivers, and seven transporters faced misdemeanor charges,” announced the police.
They urged bus drivers to remain conscious of the hazards associated with alcohol consumption while driving.
“Additionally, they must adhere to the provisions of the Law on Working Hours and Breaks for Mobile Workers, as well as follow all other regulations in the Law on Road Traffic Safety, especially those concerning speed limits,” the statement added.
