Montenegro Schools Evacuated Amid Bomb Threats: On-the-Ground Update
This morning, several schools across Montenegro, including those in Podgorica, Bijelo Polje, Bar, Budva, Ulcinj, and Danilovgrad, were evacuated due to reports of possibly planted explosive devices.
According to unofficial information from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation, the police have been notified and are currently assessing the situation. Classes will resume once the authorities confirm the safety of the school buildings, as reported by News.
“The Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation has been informed that multiple high schools in Montenegro, including the High School of Zeta, Gymnasium ‘Slobodan Škerović’, Economics ‘School, Sredić Stanić’ Podgorica, and Gymnasium ‘Petar Prvi Petrović Njegoš’ Danilovgrad, received threatening emails. The respective school administrations have been evacuated and instructed by the Ministry of Education to facilitate police inspections for the safety of the school facilities. Classes will resume once it is deemed safe,” the ministry officially stated.
The news portal also reported that a threatening message was sent to the Middle Mixed School “Danila Kiš” in Budva.
