Murino Highlights the Price of War and the Value of Peace
With deep sorrow and profound respect, we commemorate Murino—a tranquil town that 26 years ago was abruptly awakened by the roar of aircraft during the NATO bombing. On that fateful day, six innocent lives were taken, including the lives of three children.
For the first time, Montenegro has taken steps to acknowledge its responsibility, pledging €100,000 to each family of the victims as a measure to address a longstanding injustice. Montenegro remembers you—and always will.
Murino serves as a somber reminder of the true cost of war and a lasting tribute to the importance of peace. Let this tragedy be our unwavering commitment to pursue dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect as the sole path forward.
Eternal glory to Julija, Olivera, Miroslav, Vukić, Milka, and Manojlo.
May we never forget. May such events never occur again—to anyone, anywhere.
