The liquid assets of banks in May reached 1.33 billion euros, showing a slight increase compared to April.

Compared to May of the previous year, the liquid assets have increased by 21.04 percent.

The liquidity ratios for the banking system were above the required minimum, both on a daily and decadal basis.

At the end of May, banks had a total balance sheet of 6.65 billion euros, reflecting a growth of 0.44 percent since late April, and an increase of 3.48 percent year-on-year.

In terms of asset structure, as of the end of May, loans made up the largest share at 63.83 percent, followed by securities and deposits from central banks at 13.88 percent, with remaining assets accounting for the rest.

For liabilities, deposits dominated at 80.25 percent, followed by capital at 12.73 percent, borrowings at 3.86 percent, while other liabilities contributed 3.16 percent of the total.

The total capital of banks at the end of May was 846.99 million euros, marking a monthly growth of 1.94 percent and an annual increase of 13.76 percent.
