Dodik Will Not Participate in Discussions on Solutions for Bosnia and Herzegovina
European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Marta Kos, announced that Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik will not be a participant in discussions regarding solutions for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
When questioned by N1 Slovenia journalists if Dodik would engage with the European Union (EU) in finding a resolution for BiH, Kos replied succinctly: “No.”
She pointed out that Dodik’s actions impede BiH’s journey towards European integration, rendering him an unsuitable partner in this process.
“This is a politician with secessionist ambitions, opposing European integration, disregarding the framework established by the Dayton Agreement, and asserting unwarranted claims,” said Kos.
According to her, the EU is striving to navigate BiH from its current predicament towards integration with Brussels, but this necessitates fundamental reforms and stabilization within the nation.
She noted that in RS, “over fifty percent of citizens advocate for BiH’s European aspirations, despite Dodik’s statements.”
The European Commissioner remarked that the current atmosphere in BiH is highly tense, asserting that Dodik’s actions are exacerbating instability in the country.
Kos emphasized that the EU will persist in its efforts to ensure BiH meets the requirements for commencing negotiations as swiftly as possible and reinforcing its European trajectory, but without engaging with politicians who actively undermine that goal.
