During their cordial and constructive dialogue, they discussed key issues related to the rule of law, human rights protection, and the significance of effectively implementing the Court’s judgments within the Council of Europe member states. Special attention was given to the challenges Montenegro faces in the realm of European integration and judicial reform.

He highlighted that the government has undertaken all necessary measures to ensure the timely implementation of the Court’s decisions. This commitment is evidenced by a compensation payment of EUR 6.2 million to former employees of “Radoje Dakić,” alongside decisions to compensate an additional 1,500 former employees, as well as workers from “IMO Košuta” in Cetinje, “KAP,” and the Nikšić Bauxite Mine.

He noted that continued collaboration with the European Court is crucial for Montenegro’s further advancements toward full EU membership.
The meeting also discussed the significance of judicial independence in protecting fundamental rights, the necessity of judicial transparency, and the imperative to enhance public trust in justice system institutions.
