Forest Advances to FA Cup Semi-Finals
Nottingham Forest currently holds the third spot in the Premier League standings and is on track to qualify for the Champions League next season. Fans of this illustrious club are increasingly optimistic that this season might culminate in lifting a trophy.
Known as the “Forest Rangers,” the team has advanced to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, a title they haven’t secured since 1959, following a tense penalty shootout victory over Brighton (4:3).
This marks Forest’s first appearance in the FA Cup semi-finals in 34 years.
The match at “Amex” ended with no goals after 120 minutes, and it was goalkeeper Mats Sels who turned the tide during the penalty shootout by saving attempts from Jack Hinshelwood and Diego Gomez in the third and fourth rounds, respectively.
The only player of concern for Forest was Neko Williams, who faltered in the 3rd round.
Cristal Palace, who earlier triumphed over Fulham 3:0 at Craven Cottage with goals from Eberechi Eze, Ismaila Sarr, and Eddie Nketiah, also secured their place in the semi-finals.
The final team to make it to the semi-finals will be determined on Sunday, as Preston, under the guidance of Milutin Osmajić, takes on Aston Villa, while Manchester City faces Bournemouth.
