The Fund Allocation Commission has allocated funds for medically assisted reproduction (MAV) to 18 couples living in Bar, as per the recent Decision made regarding infertility treatment support.

A total of 18 eligible married and unmarried couples have qualified for these funds, amounting to a total of 33,000 euros, based on the approved ranking list and existing regulations.

Among the recipients, four couples who have already accessed medically assisted reproduction through mandatory health insurance will receive 3,000 euros each, while fourteen couples currently undergoing or who have commenced the MAV process will each receive 1,500 euros.

“These funds are specifically designated for in vitro fertilization (IVF and ICSI) procedures, along with other related treatment expenses. Mayor Dušan Raičević will establish individual contracts with the beneficiaries to outline their rights and obligations,” noted Tanja Spičanović, President of the Commission and Vice-President of the Municipality. She also stated that the Municipality of Bar is proud of the successful rollout of the medically assisted fertilization support initiative, aimed at aiding couples and women dealing with infertility challenges.

Spičanović further emphasized that this initiative acts as a strategic demographic measure, facilitating equal access to health services, bolstering the birth rate, and affirming the right to parenthood for all Bar residents.

“Recognizing the necessity to address infertility awareness and combat stigma, we will soon launch psychological counseling services and support groups to assist couples and women during the challenging MPO process,” she added.

This initiative underlines the Municipality of Bar's dedication to consistently supporting couples in their journey to parenthood and emphasizes the significance of pro-natal policies for the entire community.
