Leipzig Parts Ways with Rose
Football club Leipzig parted ways with head coach Mark Rose today following a series of disappointing performances.
This follows Leipzig’s recent 1-0 defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, marking their sixth straight away match without a victory and their third match in which they failed to score.
Currently, Leipzig sits in sixth place in the standings, trailing Mainz by three points, who also has a game in hand in fourth place, the last position qualifying for the Champions League.
The club’s management confirmed that along with Rose, his entire coaching staff will also be departing.
“Considering the recent developments and ongoing lack of results, we firmly believe that a fresh approach is necessary for the remainder of the season to achieve our objectives,” stated sporting director Marcel Schäfer.
Rose was appointed in September 2022, guiding the team to a Cup victory in 2023 and leading them to the Champions League on two occasions.
The club plans to announce a new coach in the near future.
Leipzig is scheduled to face Stuttgart in the Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.
