The Montenegro government has announced plans to establish state reserves and provide direct delivery of essential food items from those reserves to citizens, as stated by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
“This is a sustainable approach to combating high prices; capping the margins will significantly aid the budget of our citizens. However, we need to ensure long-term price growth and market stabilization in Montenegro,” Spajić highlighted in an interview.
He emphasized that this initiative would effectively address the needs of citizens for lower and more stable prices.
The advantages of this initiative will not only result in reduced and stable prices for essential food items but will also greatly benefit vulnerable groups, including those with disabilities, pensioners, and individuals who have difficulty accessing supermarkets.
“We believe that we are responding to their needs, and through this initiative, EM will lower prices and provide support to these population segments,” Spajić concluded.
