The influx of British tourists to Montenegro, alongside ongoing improvements to information access regarding tourism offerings, was highlighted by the Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić, and the British Ambassador in Podgorica, Dawn McKen.

The meeting addressed current collaborations and explored opportunities to enhance bilateral relations in tourism.

Kordić underscored the significance of tourism as a vital economic sector for our country and the essential promotion of Montenegro as a distinctive tourist destination in the UK market, particularly with an emphasis on sustainable tourism development and the preservation of natural resources.

She noted the importance of boosting the number of British tourists visiting Montenegro, particularly through improved connectivity between the two nations.

Extending her congratulations on Kordić’s new role, McKen expressed her contentment with the marked increase in British tourists who have traveled to Montenegro recently.

She specifically highlighted the rise in direct flights between the two countries, which has made Montenegro more accessible to British travelers.

McKen also emphasized the necessity for further enhancements in providing information regarding Montenegro’s tourist attractions and offerings to UK tourists, particularly focusing on the northern region of the country.

Both parties concurred that such meetings are crucial for advancing cooperation in tourism, where there remains significant potential for stronger collaborative efforts, especially in the area of sustainable tourism.
