Blockade Affects Over 20,000 Companies in Montenegro

In Montenegro, data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBM) reveals that by the end of July, there were 20.63 thousand companies and entrepreneurs facing blockages, a slight increase compared to the end of June.

The total debt associated with these blocked accounts amounts to nearly 1.29 billion euros, which represents an increase of 1.56 percent since June.

The CBM has indicated that the concentration of debt is significant, with the ten largest debtors—only 0.05 percent of the total recorded—accounting for 30.46 percent of the overall blockage. This group has a combined blocked amount of 393.64 million euros.

Notably, 50.8 percent of the entire blockage, equating to 656.43 million euros, stems from the 50 largest debtors, which make up just 0.24 percent of all recorded entities.

Among those in continuous blockage, there were 1.71 thousand debtors whose total blockage amounted to 41.81 million euros, representing 3.23 percent of the overall blocked funds.

Over the past year, 18.91 thousand companies or entrepreneurs have been blocked, with a total blockage of 1.25 billion euros.
