Tomislav Đinović Advances to the Quarterfinals
Tomislav Đinović, a member of the Montenegrin boxing national team, has successfully reached the quarterfinals of the international tournament “Great Silk Way – 2025” held in Baku.
In the round of 16 for the 60-kilogram category, BK representative Zlatičanin prevailed over Kazakhstan’s Chingiz Musinov through a split decision.
The judges awarded Đinović the first and third rounds, while the second round went to his Kazakh opponent.
“I’m really happy to kick off the tournament with a win. To be honest, it was a tough match—I felt some fatigue in my legs, but I managed to push through. I knew I needed to be strategic and not push myself too hard; I just followed our game plan. Focus, strategy, and heart made the difference,” Đinović remarked.
In the quarterfinals, Đinović will face Azerbaijani fighter Tagi Nasibov, who advanced past Akmal Ubaidov in the previous round.
The bronze medalist from the last European Championship is the sole representative from Montenegro and is competing in Baku alongside his coach, Momčilo Zlatičanin.
The tournament in Azerbaijan’s capital is showcasing over 200 fighters hailing from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.
