According to Sarajevo media reports, the plane belonging to the government of Republika Srpska (RS) that departed from Israel late last night and arrived in Belgrade during the night, resumed its journey after a brief stop and landed at Mahovljani Airport in Banja Luka this morning. It is believed that the plane was carrying RS President Milorad Dodik.
Reports indicate that Dodik returned from Israel on the government aircraft, first making a stop in Belgrade before arriving in Banja Luka. This return comes amidst reports that Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for him, despite his prior announcement stating he would be returning from Israel “next week.”
The President of Serbia attended a Conference on Combating Anti-Semitism in Jerusalem, and Israeli media stated that following a request from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Interpol to issue an arrest warrant, Israeli officials advised him to leave the event.
Yesterday, the Court of BiH requested Interpol to issue a red warrant for Dodik and the Speaker of the RS Parliament, Nenad Stevandić, based on suspicions that they committed the offense of “attacking the constitutional order of BiH”.
This decision was made after both individuals departed BiH, bypassing the legally required border control procedures.
