This year, preparations for the summer tourist season in Budva commenced significantly earlier than in previous years. Following the directive from Mayor Nikola Jovanović, all relevant services have been mobilized to enhance the cleanliness and organization of public spaces.
“Our objective is to optimize the operational efficiency of local companies and services in the lead-up to the official start of the season, ensuring they can deliver public interest services at full capacity during peak tourist times,” the Municipality of Budva informed Vijesti.
Employees from the Cleaning unit under Doo “Komunalno” Budva have conducted an extensive cleaning of the streets and squares inside and outside the Old Town this morning. They utilized a multifunctional street cleaning and washing machine alongside a large tanker truck.
The operation, which kicked off at six o’clock this morning, ensured a thorough cleansing of the Old Town’s interior, removing grease, accumulated dust, and other debris.
“Streets and plazas were treated with specialized brushes to attain optimal cleanliness. An extensive washing with a large tanker truck covered the entire area surrounding the Old Town, including access streets and squares, while a smaller vehicle facilitated detailed cleaning within the walls. The operation was successfully completed by 7:30 a.m.,” stated the Municipality, adding:
“These cleaning activities will take place twice a week without a predetermined schedule. During the tourist season, a specific cleaning timetable will be established. The Cleanliness working unit will continue implementing regular hygiene measures to keep the Old Town of Budva clean and inviting for residents and visitors alike. As a cultural and historical asset, it is crucial for the Old Town of Budva to remain a jewel of the area and a captivating postcard for all who appreciate its beauty and authenticity,” emphasized the Municipality.
