The legacy of legends endures, and the esteemed Petar Porobić is among them – not only in Montenegro but also in China.

This vast nation honors the contributions made by one of the finest water polo coaches before his untimely passing on October 9 of last year.

This sentiment was echoed during the match for 7th place at the World Championship in Doha, where Montenegro faced Hungary. The message from the crowd spoke volumes.

“Coach Petar Porobić – China will always remember you,” proclaimed a banner displayed by one of the Chinese supporters.

Porobić, who guided Montenegro to European championship glory in Malaga in 2008, left an indelible impact in China, where he coached both the women’s and men’s national teams.

Tragically, he passed away while returning from his time in that country back to Montenegro.
