The Government of Montenegro’s plan to sell the entirety of Velika Plaza has been firmly rejected, as it contradicts the laws of Montenegro and existing spatial plans. This statement was made by Omer Bajraktari, president of the Ulcinj board of the Civic Movement URA, following the unanimous adoption of resolutions by the Ulcinj Municipal Assembly that express opposition to the contentious agreement between the Montenegrin Government and the United Arab Emirates.
“While we welcome investments, we cannot support the manner in which this evaluation is being conducted, nor can we accept the plan to transfer the entire Velika Plaza to a single investor in a non-transparent and illegal way, effectively rendering the entire area as private and unavailable for public access,” Bajraktari stated in a press release.
