The Budva volleyball team has taken a 3-1 lead in the EPCG Super League playoffs final series after their victory over Buducnost with a score of 25:14 (25:18, 26:24, 25:18, 2:0) at SC “Morača.” They now have the chance to clinch their seventh consecutive title on Monday in front of their home supporters.
This match was considerably more thrilling than the first in the finals. Budva started strong, dominating the first set and finishing it in under 20 minutes with a score of 25:14, indicating that they had no intention of relenting.
Initially, Buducnost posed a stronger challenge to the reigning champions, but they couldn’t level the score as Budva secured the second set 25:18. In the third set, Buducnost fought back, managing to fend off Budva’s match points. Taking advantage of their second set point, Buducnost claimed the third set 26:24, pulling the series to 2:1.
However, that was the end of Buducnost’s momentum, as Budva, driven by the consistently impressive Vasilije Milenković, reestablished their lead, maintaining a +4 advantage and ultimately closing the match at 25:18.
Vasilije Milenković led the scoring with an impressive 26 points. For Budva, captain Balša Radunović contributed 17 points, while Miro Miljanić added 12 points. From Buducnost, Aleksa Nikolić scored 13 points, and Luka Lojić followed closely with 11.
The third match in the series is set to take place in Budva on Monday, April 21st, kicking off at 18:00.
