The police in Danilovgrad have submitted a criminal report against a minor student from the local “Milosav Koljenšić” Elementary School, following suspicions of sending three bomb threats to the school’s address.
This action came after the school principal reported receiving three emails on March 18, each claiming that an explosive device had been planted at the institution. These emails were sent to the official school email in Skap during the evening.
“Officers from the Danilovgrad Security Department, in collaboration with the SBPK – Group for Suppression of High-Tech Crime, identified and charged a 15-year-old as the sender of the emails,” stated the Police Directorate.
According to their announcement, a statement was obtained from the minor in the presence of a parent, and a mobile phone believed to have been used for the crime was temporarily seized.
Under the prosecutor’s direction, criminal charges have been filed against the student for allegedly committing a criminal offense related to causing panic and disorder.
“During the investigation, police officers uncovered the circumstances and motivations behind the aforementioned criminal offense,” the statement continued.
The authorities will also pursue a misdemeanor charge against the minor’s legal guardian for negligence, as per Article 37 of the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence.
The police intend to inform both the administration of the school the minor attends and the Center for Social Work about the incident “to enable them to take appropriate actions within their jurisdictions.”
“The Police Department urges parents to enhance their supervision and control of their children’s online activities to prevent similar incidents, which could have detrimental effects on both the children and the wider community,” the statement concluded.
