Budva and Budućnost Compete for the Cup for the Fifth Consecutive Time

The concluding series of the EPCG Volleyball Super League is set to commence with a match at MSC Budva on Tuesday, April 15th, at 18:00. The Budva volleyball team is on the hunt for its seventh consecutive Montenegrin championship title, while Buducnost aims for a historic milestone.

This upcoming fourth encounter this season between these fierce rivals, who previously contested the Montenegrin Cup in Budva at the end of March, is anticipated with high excitement. The home team enters as the favorite, having only dropped a single set to the Podgorica squad so far.

“We are facing a significant challenge, a final that epitomizes the pinnacle of the season and serves as a chance to demonstrate the character, team spirit, and quality we have cultivated throughout the championship. Each match holds immense significance, and the team is prepared to give their all on the court. The support from our fans means the world to us – together, we are striving toward our goal,” stated Budva coach Miljan Bošković.

Dealing with the absence of their top player, national team member Ivan Zvicer, who has to conclude his season due to health issues – a loss that was notably felt during the Cup final – the Podgorica team hopes that the talent of its younger players will shine through.

“After the shock we faced as a team just prior to the Cup final, with Ivan Zvicer unable to play, we have since stabilized and come to terms with our new reality. We have been training diligently and are prepared to deliver our best performance with the roster we have. In the Cup final, we proved that our team possesses quality, and with some adjustments in key aspects, we have reasons for optimism as we enter the final series of the championship. We are looking forward to quality matches in this battle for the trophy, featuring a plethora of young players on both sides,” remarked Budućnost coach Dejan Radić.

The champion of Montenegro will be the first team to achieve three victories.
