25 drivers arrested for traffic violations, Ulcinj resident drove 213 km/h on the highway

“25 Drivers Arrested for Traffic Violations, Including Ulcinj Resident Caught Driving at 213 km/h on the Highway”

Authorities apprehended 25 drivers in the northern and central areas of the country for infractions of the Road Traffic Safety Act, according to a statement from the Police Directorate.

The majority of the arrests were made for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. Additionally, police issued over 300 misdemeanor warrants and confiscated two vehicles.

“A driver from Ulcinj, identified as KU (48), was apprehended by the Mobile Traffic Police Unit for exceeding the speed limit on the highway, traveling at 213 kilometers per hour (km/h),” the announcement detailed.

Further, during Operation Brzina, officers screened 272 individuals and issued 218 misdemeanor warrants for various offenses.

In the report, it was noted that Kolašin police apprehended a person of operational interest, BK (39) from Kolašin.

“He was caught driving a vehicle with an expired registration and refused to take a test for the presence of psychoactive substances. Subsequent testing revealed he had a blood alcohol concentration of 1.79 per mille,” the report stated.

Furthermore, a misdemeanor judge imposed a fine of 920 euros on him.

“BK is a repeat offender and has previously been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs,” the police commented.

As part of Operation Tragač, police also confiscated a Mercedes driven by MB (36), which lacked license plates and proper documentation.

The vehicle will undergo further inspections.

The Police Directorate reported that Podgorica police executed operations last night aimed at enhancing traffic control concerning Speed, Alcohol, and PAS, resulting in the arrest of 23 individuals, issuance of 117 misdemeanor warrants, and the confiscation of one vehicle.

“Out of the total arrests, ten were for exceeding the speed limit, ten for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and three for driving under the influence of psychoactive substances,” the announcement specified.

Additionally, MK from Podgorica was arrested for driving with a blood alcohol content of 2.32 per mille.
