Following various claims that not only students but also extras have been gathered at Pioneer Park in Belgrade, the N1 television team was able to connect with those behind the recruitment of extras, according to media reports.
N1 journalist Mladen Savatović investigated the recruitment process, daily wages, and the requirements involved.
Milena: Please.
N1: Hello, good day.
Milena: Yes.
N1: Is this Milena?
Milena: Yes. And you?
N1: Mladen here from Belgrade.
Milena: How old are you?
N1: 28 years old.
Milena: Sweetie, if you want to be a student, how can I get you placed as one? I can include you in two groups. I could put you in my group, which has older participants, but for those in their twenties, you’re too young. I can try asking permission, but I really don’t know. Young people aren’t in my group. If you want to join as a student, the pay is the same. I just need to confirm with the girl. I’m asking to see if a student would be interested, just being honest here, it’s 80 euros… Listen, the students… are you still there?
N1: Yes, I’m here, still listening.
Milena: These are paid students, so to speak. They sit and lie around like bears, have a tent, but they won’t tell me the cost. I need to reach out to another group to see if I can include you. I believe it’s 8,000, which is the same. They might be lying to me; you hear me talking about 50 euros – they could be deceiving me… Everyone seems to be concocting some story.
Students who are demanding the resumption of classes and opposing the blockade of faculties in Serbia were recently joined at a camp in Pionirski Park in Belgrade by veterans of the Special Operations Unit (JSO), as reported by Beta news agency.
Former members of the JSO, dressed in the uniforms of that disbanded unit, set up tents in front of the Serbian Presidency, as observed by a reporter from Beta news agency.
Police officers who were securing the camp in Pionirski Park detained an individual yesterday who, according to onlookers, was shouting at those assembled at the camp.
Numerous tents were assembled throughout the camp, adorned with Serbian flags and banners proclaiming “Plenum down,” while a sign reading “Street of students who want to study” was displayed on a tree.
