A number of Montenegrin volleyball players made notable contributions during their teams’ championship finals. This weekend, Danijela Džaković stood out, while our middle blockers, Saška Đurović and Katarina Budrak, delivered exceptional performances in Portugal and France.

Despite Danijela’s impressive 29 points, her team, Mili Avijazija, fell to Murov at home with a score of 3:2. Nevertheless, by overcoming Uneco, she and her teammates clinched a spot in the semi-finals of the Azerbaijan Championship playoffs. In the playoff for the final, requiring up to two wins, the Montenegrin serve receiver and her team will compete against Azerail.

In the Portuguese league, Sporting is embroiled in a fierce contest with Braga in the semi-finals of the playoffs, with the crucial fifth game set for Thursday. The previous week saw Sporting secure a 3:1 victory, bouncing back from a home defeat in five sets. Saška Đurović consistently performed well, contributing 10 points in both matches.

Katarina Budrak, Saška’s national teammate, also shone against the French champions, Levallois. However, her team, Bordeaux, managed to win only one match in the quarter-final series against the Paris team, claiming victory at home with a score of 3:2. In that game, Katarina achieved an impressive 13 points, while in the decisive match, which ended 3:1, she scored 10 points.

In the Croatian Super League, the Zagreb final will see Simona Petranović’s team vying for the cup against Dinamo after Mladost defeated Brda away easily, 3:1. Notably, our national team player did not see playtime in the second leg of the playoff semi-final.

Teodora Rakočević’s team from Banja Luka did not reach the finals after losing at home to city rivals Borac in the second leg of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League playoff semi-final. In her last match of the season, our middle blocker recorded five points.

Mina Dragović’s team, Lugoš, secured fifth place in Romania after winning their final game of the season against Constanta with a score of 3:2, although our volleyball player did not participate in that match.
