The Budva volleyball team has taken the lead in the EPCG Super League final series after a decisive victory against Buducnost, winning 3:0 (25:19, 25:21, 25:23) and maintaining their home court advantage as they entered the playoffs as the top team in the league.
In a thrilling match, Budva managed to outplay the Podgorica squad, particularly in the closing moments. Dejan Radić’s team built a four-point lead multiple times during the initial two sets, but could not hold on against the seasoned Buducnost players, eventually finishing the sets with a strong performance.
The decisive phase of the game started brilliantly for Miljan Bošković’s squad, who made it clear to their opponents—missing their star player Ivan Zvicer—that they were not going to let an upset occur at the outset of the series. Despite a close contest, the home team maintained their lead and scored the match-winning point on their third match point, sealing the set at 25:23, even as Aleksa Nikolić had an opportunity to even the score at 24:24.
Budva’s captain, Balša Radunović, emerged as the top performer of the match with 16 points. Close behind him was the young talent Vasilije Milenković with 15 points, and Miro Miljanić contributed 13 points for Budva. For Buducnost, Luka Lojić scored 14 points, while Aleksa Nikolić finished the match with 13 points, and Miodrag Jelić added 10 points. Both teams featured several young Montenegrin players, including 15-year-old Filip Milosavljević for Budva and the even younger 14-year-old Aleksa Radić on the opposing side.
The second match of the series is scheduled to take place in Podgorica at SC “Morača” this Friday at 19:00 PM.
