RATEL Conducts Regional Meeting for CIRT Teams from Montenegro, Albania, and Cyprus
On April 10 and 11, 2025, the National CERT of Serbia organized a two-day visit that brought together representatives from national and governmental CIRTs (Computer Incident Response Teams) of Montenegro, Albania, and Cyprus. This event was facilitated by the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Management (DCAF) as part of the initiative “WB6-EU Cooperation for Enhancing Cybersecurity in the Western Balkans.” The project is supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
The goal of the visit was to promote knowledge sharing and exchange of information concerning current cybersecurity challenges, institutional frameworks, and the importance of regional collaboration in incident management and cyber threat monitoring. Participants engaged in discussions on the latest cybersecurity trends, exchanged experiences and best practices, and shared insights about the tools and projects they are currently involved in. Additionally, the visit aimed to reinforce existing institutional relationships and establish new partnerships. A significant portion of the program included a hands-on exercise on the CyberBit platform, led by experts from SRB-CERT.
This visit marks a crucial advancement in enhancing regional cooperation and bolstering the capabilities of national and governmental CIRTs to respond more effectively to cyber threats.
