Criminal charges have been brought against convict Renato Berišić (35) for allegedly attempting to bribe an officer of the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) with 1,000 euros.
In 2020, Berišić received a 20-year prison sentence due to his involvement in the murder of Želimir Bokan in Bar in 2015. Rufin Vujović was sentenced to 40 years for the same crime, while accomplice Anela Koljenović received a 15-year sentence.
The Danilovgrad police initiated action based on a report from UIKS regarding the incident of bribery that occurred in late February.
According to the police statement, “Convict RB (35) allegedly proposed to give an officer of the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions 1,000 euros, which he would receive from his father, in exchange for permitting him to bring a mobile phone into the Directorate’s premises to hand over to convict RB.”
In collaboration with the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, officers from the Danilovgrad Security Department executed measures and collected testimonies from multiple individuals.
After completing the criminal investigation, a complaint was filed against RB by the prosecutor’s direction, on the grounds of suspected bribery. The police are continuing further actions in cooperation with the relevant state prosecutor’s office.
