The AdmiralBet ABA League’s 24th round will wrap up tomorrow at 20 p.m. in Podgorica, featuring a match between SC Derbi and Split.
This encounter marks the fourth game for Split in just ten days, following matches against Alkar and Zabok in the domestic league, as well as a matchup with Cibona in regional play. Consequently, the remarks from Split’s coach, Veljko Mršić, prior to the game are understandable.
“In this hectic schedule, we find ourselves facing another match. We haven’t had the chance to analyze our previous game against Zabok, let alone practice. SC Derbi is a direct competitor for a more favorable position in the ABA League. They are a solid team, blending youth with experience. We are committed to securing a win,” stated Mršić.
Split has triumphed over their opponents in the last two meetings, and currently, both teams hold an equal record of eight victories and 15 defeats.
“We’re anticipating a challenging away game in Podgorica. Derbi has proven capable of competing with every team in the league. Nonetheless, our focus should be on our own performance and making improvements. After securing a few victories, we faced a setback in the domestic league, and with the demanding schedule ahead, I hope we can return to our winning form in Podgorica,” commented Borna Kapusta, who made the switch from SC Derbi to Split at the end of the previous season.
