15 Drivers Detained in Kotor, Tivat, Bar, and Ulcinj

The police apprehended 15 drivers in Kotor, Tivat, Bar, and Ulcinj, while also issuing 371 misdemeanor citations for infractions related to the Road Traffic Safety Law.
According to the Police Directorate, traffic police conducted several operations aimed at monitoring traffic participants in these cities from Wednesday to yesterday.
In Kotor, police checked 102 drivers, issued 76 misdemeanor citations, and filed 12 reports.
One of the individuals, identified as MM (1.41) from Bijelo Polje, was detained for driving under the influence of alcohol with a concentration of 38 per mille.
Furthermore, MM was fined 420 euros.
Police also arrested AV (29) from Kotor for operating a vehicle under the influence of cocaine and marijuana.
“The magistrate sentenced him to 15 days in jail,” the report noted.
It was also mentioned that a Turkish citizen, KOE, was arrested for illegal overtaking on the Tivat-Kotor main road in the Vrmac tunnel.
“He was fined 420 euros,” police stated.
As part of the “Speed” and “Tachograph” operations, a total of 58 misdemeanor citations were issued, along with six reports filed.
The Tivat police reported issuing 54 misdemeanor citations and filing five reports during the campaigns “Let it Ring – Life is More Important”, “Speed”, “Belt”, and for other violations of the Traffic Safety Law.
The Police Directorate’s statement highlighted that officers in Bar conducted a local action for increased control over traffic participants, alongside two national campaigns – “Let the Bell Ring – Life is More Important” and “Speed”.
“During these efforts, they issued 111 misdemeanor citations, filed 14 reports, and arrested six drivers—two for drug-related offenses, two for alcohol-related offenses, and two for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 kilometers per hour in a populated area,” the statement indicated.
In Ulcinj, police involved in the “Psychoactive Substances” operation arrested six drivers, including two individuals of operational interest.
The Police Directorate reported that individuals AD (26) and GS (36) were apprehended, and the misdemeanor judge imposed a 30-day prison sentence on each.
“A total of 72 misdemeanor citations were issued and eight reports were filed, with two of those against drivers caught operating a vehicle while under a driving ban,” the statement concluded.
