The Denver Nuggets triumphed over the Houston Rockets with a score of 116:111 last night, putting an end to the Rockets’ impressive nine-game winning streak in the NBA.
Jamal Murray led the Nuggets with an outstanding performance, scoring 39 points and providing seven assists. Michael Porter Jr. contributed 17 points and nine rebounds, while Russell Westbrook netted 14 points and Aaron Gordon added 13 points along with eight assists.
Deandre Jordan made a significant return, registering his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds after missing 15 games.
Serbian star Nikola Jokić was absent for the Nuggets’ fourth straight game due to an ankle sprain.
On the Houston side, Jaylen Green was the standout player with 30 points, and Dillon Brooks added 21 points. Alperen Şengün achieved a triple-double, showcasing 17 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Steven Adams recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Denver currently ranks third in the Western Conference standings with a record of 45 wins and 27 losses, whereas Houston sits in second place with 46 wins and 26 losses.
In a road game in Inglewood, Oklahoma City defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 103:101, marking their sixth consecutive victory.
Shay Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge for Oklahoma City with 26 points and eight assists. Aaron Wiggins followed with 19 points, while Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein both made notable contributions with 14 points and 10 rebounds each.
Unfortunately for Oklahoma, two regular starters, Jaylen Williams and Chet Holmgren, were sidelined due to injuries.
Kawhi Leonard was the top performer for the Clippers, scoring 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Toronto, coached by Serbian Darko Rajaković, suffered a heavy loss to San Antonio, finishing 89:123, marking their fourth consecutive loss. Meanwhile, Atlanta, led by Trae Young, claimed a 132:119 victory over Philadelphia.
Boston triumphed over Portland with a score of 129:116, powered by Jayson Tatum’s 30 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists, marking their fifth consecutive victory.
