The Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP) has launched the Tariff Calculator web application to help users in selecting electronic communication services in Montenegro.

“The tariff calculator serves as an interactive tool that allows comparisons of public electronic communications services in Montenegro, encompassing fixed and mobile telephony, internet access services, and distribution of TV and radio programs (AVM content), alongside combined service packages,” stated EKIP in their announcement.

The tariff calculator can be accessed on the regulator’s website at www.ekip.me, under the Agency Services section and directly at kalkulator.ekip.me.

This tool aids users in identifying an electronic communication service that best fits their needs.

The calculator is informational and relies on data about pricing and service details provided by electronic communications operators.

To compare costs for a specific service, users must first input their requirements, subsequently receiving tariff package suggestions from the portal.

There are two ways to enter data: simple and detailed.

“With simple entry, users provide minimal data, while assumptions based on average user consumption in Montenegro for the selected service are applied. Detailed entry allows for specifying traffic distribution across particular destinations,” EKIP elaborated.

Based on the information provided by the user regarding their desired electronic communication service and data entered by the electronic communications operators, the calculator generates a ranked list of the best service options from operators that meet the user’s criteria.

It’s important to note that the outcomes from the Tariff Calculator do not equate to monthly bills for public electronic communications services.

For precise calculations, obtaining offers, and finalizing contracts, users need to directly contact the electronic communications operator they select based on the recommendations or computations generated by the calculator.

“Electronic communications operators are responsible for inputting their service prices, conditions, and descriptions into the Tariff Calculator application. The Agency regularly reviews these entries, approving them or returning them to the operator for amendments if discrepancies with operator price lists are found,” EKIP clarified.

This process ensures that users accessing the calculator are provided with accurate information regarding the offers, pricing, and characteristics of electronic communications services.

Last year, the Tariff Calculator application attracted 15,640 users.
