“Contractors Edge Out Economists in Overtime Victory”
The basketball team from the Faculty of Civil Engineering celebrated their third win in the Meridianbet Student League of Montenegro.
In a thrilling match during the third round of Group A, the “Construction Team,” powered by the outstanding Luka Rakočević (20 points), handed the Faculty of Economics their second loss (45:42) after an overtime battle. Novo Rašović (19) and Lasica (13) also contributed significantly with double-digit scores.
The students from the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Nikšić maintained their excellent form, achieving a convincing victory over the Mediterranean University (48:20), a team still in search of their first win. Four players stood out for the winners with double-digit scores: Kovačević (14), Perović (12), Zonjić (18), and Parović (11), whereas Filip Čarapić (12) and Nikolić (10) were the notable performers for the losing side.
The match between the Faculty of Science and Mathematics and the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology concluded in a stalemate (20:0) as the “metallurgists” failed to show up on time.
In Group B, the most exciting match of the third round saw the University of Donja Gorica triumph over the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (47:45) after a closely contested game, marking their third win while handing ETF their second defeat. The most effective players for UDG were Lađić (19), Dušan Vučelić (11), and Živanović (11), while Bakoč (19) was the standout scorer for ETF.
The Faculty of Law earned their second consecutive win, delivering a solid defeat to the Faculty of Biotechnology (56:35). Delić (12), Mitrović (11), and Nikola Rondović (10) spearheaded the “lawyers'” success, while the top performers for the Faculty of Biotechnology were Rakčević (12) and Dragašević (11).
Following a previous loss, the basketball players of Studentski dom NK bounced back by defeating the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (38:29), marking the latter’s third consecutive defeat. Ćetković (15) was instrumental in securing this victory for the “home team,” while Jeknić and Pavle Prelević stood out for the “machine team” with 10 points each.
