Klikovac Speaks Out on Everything But the Stojanović Verdict: Where Are the Moral Sermons?

Andrija Klikovac, a councilor of the DPS in the Capital City Assembly, always finds an opportunity to express his views and deliver moral lectures on various issues — except when it comes to commenting on the sentencing of former police director Slavko Stojanović for cigarette smuggling. In that case, the party has effectively silenced him through disciplinary measures, claims Anđela Mićović, a councilor with the Europe Now Movement (PES) in the Podgorica parliament.
“It’s no surprise. When the DPS was in power, organized crime thrived, and now that they are in opposition, they implement what they call reforms, which are merely superficial. This verdict may have criminal implications for one individual, but it reveals much more about the DPS’s governance and how institutions were manipulated to safeguard mafia operations.”
“The arrests came first, and now we are witnessing the initial verdicts. Who will be next? Which of the convicted will become the first to speak out? Will we see a new cooperating witness? While these might be captivating questions for us, for the leaders of the DPS, they are everyday worries,” she asserts.
“After months of attacking the SDT, led by Vladimir Novović, the reasons behind their silence are now evident,” Mićović adds.
“Klikovac and his party leaders are quiet now because they understand that any comment, statement, or announcement would effectively be an acknowledgment of the truth — that the DPS functions as the political wing of organized crime. However, the public is aware of everything. If the DPS remains politically mute on this matter, they tacitly endorse it. Anyone who gives their approval is part of the same system that has led to moral and political degradation,” Mićović concludes.
