Ivanović Joins Opening Ceremony of EXPO 2025 in Osaka
The Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović participated in the inaugural ceremony of the World Expo 2025, which took place on Yumeshima Island in Osaka, Japan. The event was honored by the attendance of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito, Her Imperial Majesty Empress Masako, His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Akishino, Her Imperial Highness Princess Kiko, along with Japan’s Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Shigeru Ishiba.
The ceremony was centered around the theme “Re-Connect: Circulate, Resonate, Return, Connect,” representing the revival of links among individuals, nature, and technology. Notable speakers included His Imperial Majesty Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Ishiba, and the Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions, Mr. Dimitri Kerkentzes.
After the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović attended a high-level reception where he had the chance to meet with His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Akishino and Prime Minister Ishiba. During these discussions, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Montenegro’s dedication to strengthening amicable relations with Japan and enhancing bilateral cooperation in shared areas of interest.
The World Expo 2025, themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” features participation from over 160 countries and international organizations aimed at promoting innovation, sustainable development, and global collaboration. Organizers anticipate attracting more than 28 million visitors during the Expo, which will be open to the public from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
