Tomislav Đinović Advances to the Quarterfinals
Tomislav Đinović, a member of the Montenegrin boxing national team, has reached the quarterfinals of the “Great Silk Way – 2025” international tournament taking place in Baku.
In his bout, BK member Zlatičanin secured a victory against Kazakhstan’s Chingiz Musinov through a split decision in the 60-kilogram category.
The judges scored the first and third rounds in favor of the Montenegrin fighter, while the second round was awarded to his opponent from Kazakhstan.
“I am happy to have started the tournament with a win. Honestly, the fight was challenging; I felt fatigue in my legs, but I didn’t allow that to hinder me. I knew I had to be strategic, not to overexert myself, and to stick to our game plan. Focus, tactics, and determination were key,” Đinović remarked.
In the quarterfinals, the Montenegrin boxer will face Azerbaijani Tagi Nasibov, who advanced by defeating Akmal Ubaidov in the round of 16.
As the sole representative of Montenegro and a bronze medalist from the last European Championship, Đinović is competing in Baku under the guidance of his coach, Momčilo Zlatičanin.
The tournament in Azerbaijan’s capital has attracted over 200 competitors from countries including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.
