The two matches in the domestic championship between fierce rivals set the stage for an exciting final series to determine the champion of Montenegro in water polo.
In their recent league clash, Primorac emerged victorious over Jadran with a score of 15:13, but Novljan will have the advantage of the home pool in the finals, largely due to the points they earned from the Regional League.
The first encounter between these Bokele rivals in the domestic championship ended in a narrow victory for Jadran, with a score of 10:9.
Tonight’s game at the Kotor swimming pool featured several dramatic moments. Primorac initially surged ahead with a 3:1 lead, but Jadran responded fiercely and took a commanding 7:4 lead after Dmitrij Holod scored five goals in the second quarter.
However, Marko Mršić and Đorđije Stanojević energized the Kotor team, leading them to a comeback and a victory by the final whistle…
Mršić was the standout performer for the winners, netting five goals, while Stanojević added four. For Primorac, Nemanja Vico and Nikola Brkić each scored two goals, with Angus Lambi and Balša Vučković contributing one apiece.
Jadran’s scoring was led by Ivan Nagaev with four goals, while Holod and Danilo Radović both scored two. Lazar Vukićević, Jovan Vujović, Matej Čaraj, Vasilije Radović, and Strahinja Gojković each found the net once.
At the conclusion of the league stage, Jadran and Primorac both finished with five wins and a single loss. However, Novljan gained four points from the Regional League, and Kotor secured three, positioning Petar Radanović’s team at the top heading into the finals.
The final series kicks off on April 30 at Škver, and the championship will go to the team that first achieves three victories.
