Cadets Fall Short in Opening Match of Mediterranean Championship

The Montenegro cadet handball team began their journey at the Mediterranean Championship in Ankara with a loss.

The team, comprising players born in 2006 and 2007, faced a defeat against Kosovo with a score of 23:20 (7:4, 12:9, 4:7), securing only one point out of a potential five.

Filip Božović emerged as the top scorer for Montenegro, netting five goals, while Dražen Peruničić and Petar Radoičić each added four goals to the tally.

Dario Maslovar and Mojaš Nikolić contributed by scoring three goals apiece, with Miroslav Dragović also finding the back of the net.

Montenegro’s next match is scheduled for today at 17:30, where they will face France.

This appearance at the Mediterranean Championship serves as a valuable opportunity for the team, coached by Filip Popović and Draško Mrvaljević, as they prepare for the European Championship for players under 18, set to take place in Podgorica this August.
