The Montenegro cadet handball team lost today to Croatia with a score of 26:21 (8:7, 10:6, and 8:8) in the fourth round of the Mediterranean Championship held in Ankara.
This marks the second defeat for the Montenegrin cadets in the tournament, following their initial loss to Kosovo.
However, they secured victories against both France and Tunisia.
The squad, comprised of players born in 2006 and 2007 and coached by Filip Popović and Draško Mrvaljević, managed to earn half a point out of a possible five against Croatia.
Vuk Lalošević emerged as the top scorer for the Montenegrin team with nine goals, while Filip Božović and Petar Radoičić contributed three goals each.
Later today, Montenegro will compete in another match against Iraq at 16:15.
For the generation coached by Filip Popović and Draško Mrvaljević, participation in the Mediterranean Championship serves as a valuable preparation for the upcoming European Championship for players under 18, scheduled to take place in Podgorica this August.
