Herceg Novi needs to begin its recovery from the past thirty years marked by the privatization by tycoons and the systematic dismantling of the economy, which has also led to a population decline, according to the Europe Now Movement (PES).
The collaboration between Nova Lista and the Europe Now Movement is intended to “attract credible investors and clean capital to our city.”
They emphasize that Herceg Novi requires new projects, investments, and job creation.
“Following the loss of major entities like Prvoborac, Brodogradilište, and HTP Boka, Herceg Novi must prioritize two strategic aims – preserving the Igalo Institute and Meljine Hospital as vital components of health tourism, and investing in infrastructure, sustainable development, and leveraging assets such as the Luštica peninsula, the port of Zelenika, and the Herceg Novi hinterland,” stated the release.
“These initiatives demand thorough strategic planning and the influx of new capital and substantial foreign direct investments,” they added.
PES asserts that over the past year, the Government of Montenegro has established the necessary conditions to save the Igalo Institute and Meljine Hospital, “and this year anticipates over 60 million in investments for the city.”
“All matters concerning Herceg Novi are currently under discussion, indicating that the city is on the road to economic recovery, with the Europe Now! Movement and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić as reliable partners in this endeavor,” the statement highlighted.
A statement echoing these sentiments was also shared by Prime Minister and PES leader Milojko Spajić on the social media platform X.
