Montenegrin Cadets Suffer Defeat Against Turkey

The Montenegro cadet handball team faced a defeat against Turkey, ending with a score of 22:19 (7:4, 8:6, 7:9) during the sixth round of the Mediterranean Championship held in Ankara.

This marks the third loss for the Montenegrin handball squad, who also secured three victories in the tournament.

The team, composed of players born in 2006 and 2007 and coached by Filip Popović and Draško Mrvaljević, managed to earn one point out of a possible five from the match against Turkey.

To date, the team has triumphed over France, Tunisia, and Iraq, while also suffering defeats against Kosovo and Croatia.

Miroslav Dragović stood out as the top scorer of the match with six goals, followed by Aleksa Knežević with three goals.

On Friday, Montenegro will face Romania in their final group stage match.

Participation in the Mediterranean Championship serves as an important preparatory phase for the under-18 European Championship, which is scheduled to take place in Podgorica in August.
