In observance of the 26th anniversary of the bombing of the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović honored the occasion by laying wreaths at the “Milovan Šaranović” barracks in Danilovgrad and the “Marko Miljanov Popović” barracks in Podgorica.
Paying tribute to “the innocent victims who perished during those dire days filled with uncertainty and fear,” Krapović emphasized that “their sacrifice and the suffering of their families must always be remembered,” according to an announcement from the Ministry of Defense.
He further noted that “significant historical changes” have taken place since then, mentioning that Montenegro has joined the North Atlantic community in a bid to foster peace, stability, and security for itself and future generations through collective defense.
“Montenegro holds in reverence the innocent victims who lost their lives during this time. I am optimistic that, despite the highly complex security situation in the world, we are heading toward a future where generations devoted to collective well-being, peace, and tolerance can thrive. Montenegro will dedicate itself to this cause, given that throughout its history, it has often paid dearly for turbulent historical events,” Krapović stated.
