Minister Ibrahimović Inaugurates the Albanian Consulate General in Ulcinj
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimović, participated in the inauguration of the Consulate General of the Republic of Albania in Ulcinj today.
Alongside Minister Ibrahimović, speeches were delivered by Albania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, and the President of the Municipality of Ulcinj, Genci Nimanbegu.
The speeches highlighted the significance of the consulate’s opening in further bolstering friendly relations and good neighborliness between Montenegro and Albania.
Minister Ibrahimović remarked that the historical, cultural, economic, and familial connections between the citizens of Montenegro and Albania form a robust basis for the continuation and deepening of interstate relations. “The establishment of another Albanian diplomatic mission in Montenegro symbolizes our mutual commitment to enhanced cooperation and improved substantive relations. The fact that the Consulate General is located in Ulcinj—a city epitomizing multiculturalism and harmonious coexistence—further underscores the strong bond between our peoples,” Ibrahimović stated.
He recalled that the two countries have faced shared challenges and celebrated successes throughout history. “Today, we not only uphold common values and foreign policy objectives but also actively collaborate to maintain stability and ensure prosperity in our region,” Ibrahimović expressed, hopeful that the activities of the Consulate General in Ulcinj would enhance the ties and cooperation between the two nations.
Minister Hasani expressed his joy over the consulate’s inauguration, emphasizing that Ulcinj serves as “a bridge that connects our peoples through centuries of mutual respect and coexistence.”
He stressed the joint commitment to fostering a stronger and more prosperous future, noting that “the opening of the consulate signifies a significant advancement towards enhancing bilateral cooperation,” which will strongly support initiatives across various sectors, including culture, education, and the economy.
The inaugural ceremony conveyed that Albania and Montenegro, as neighboring allies, share principles and a vision for development, and will, through collaboration, work to further reinforce interstate cooperation in the spirit of good neighborliness and friendship, benefiting the citizens of both nations.
