A significant shift has occurred in the Croatian football championship as Radomir Đalović’s Rijeka has reclaimed the top spot after a dominant performance against Hajduk in the derby.

Rijeka triumphed with a 3:0 victory at Rujevica, putting them two points ahead of their rivals from Split and five points clear of Dinamo Zagreb, who won against Lokomotiv with an astonishing score of 26:1 in the third round of the HNL.

Rijeka opened the scoring against Gennaro Gattuso’s squad with a goal from Fruko in the 25th minute, followed by Ivanovic doubling the lead in the 35th minute.

Fruk capped off the match with a final goal just before the whistle, reigniting Rijeka’s hopes of clinching the title.

Recently, Đalović’s side also overcame Hajduk in the Cup quarterfinals with a score of 3:1 at Poljud and delivered a stunning 4:0 performance against Dinamo in the league.
