The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) has announced that the deadline for applying for an extension of temporary protection for individuals from Ukraine has been extended to April 4, 2025.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs the public that a new deadline for submitting applications for extending temporary protection has been established for April 4, 2025, following the initial deadline of March 26, 2025,” the statement reads.
The Ministry urges all Ukrainian nationals whose temporary protection document expired on March 11 and who wish to remain in Montenegro under temporary protection to submit their application for an extension by April 4. Failing to do so will render their stay in Montenegro illegal.
“On humanitarian grounds, during this newly established window for submitting applications for temporary protection extensions, individuals from Ukraine with expiring documents from March 11, 2025, will be permitted to reside in Montenegro. The Ministry will also request the Ministry of Health to facilitate access to health services for these individuals within the specified timeframe,” the statement continues.
“We emphasize the critical importance of submitting applications for extending temporary protection in a timely manner to ensure legal stay and the ability to exercise the rights associated with that status,” stated the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
